National Night Out is considered to be America's Night Out against crime.  This yearly campaign was created to get the community and its citizens involved in crime and drug prevention activities.

National Night Out involves citizens, law enforcement agencies, businesses, local officials, and neighborhood organizations across the 50 States, U.S. Territories, Canada, and military bases worldwide.  National Night Out is designed to heighten awareness of anti-crime programs, strengthen community and law enforcement relations, and send a message to criminals that the community is organized and willing to stand up against crime.

The Cumberland Police Department celebrates National Night Out every year with a number of activities that are all free to the public.  Our National Night Out involves fun, food, games, and more.  A Crimefighter of the Year award is given out every year to an individual or organization that has been important in the fight against crime.

The date for this year's National Night Out is August 1, 2017 at Cumberland Town Hall.  If you are interested in volunteering in some way, please contact the police department at 317-894-3525.
