Leaf Collection
the convenience of leaf disposal for our esteemed town residents while promoting eco-friendly practices. This service is
part of our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, as all leaves collected will be composted and made
available for your use next summer.
Program Details:
Start Date: Monday, October 23rd, 2023
End Date: Friday, December 1st, 2023
*Please note that the schedule may be extended based on a survey of the leaf situation at that time*
To ensure the smooth operation of our leaf collection process and to protect our equipment, we kindly request your
cooperation in adhering to the following guidelines:
- Leaf-Only Collection: Please ensure that only leaves are placed at the curb for pick-up. Do not mix in limbs, brush, rocks, or other debris with your leaves. We are unable to collect leaves from locations containing such materials.
- Federal Clean Water Act Compliance: In accordance with the Federal Clean Water Act, it is strictly prohibited to rake leaves into the street, as this can adversely impact our Storm Water Sewer System. The Town is responsible for enforcing this provision. Leaves in front of your property will not be collected until they are removed from the street.
- Proper Leaf Placement: Leaves should be raked into a windrow at the edge of the road, avoiding the side ditch or placement directly on the road. This arrangement allows our leaf vacuum to access the leaves efficiently. Leaves that cannot be reached will not be picked up.
2023 Leaf Pick-Up Schedule:
- Monday: Glen Oaks - Oak Blvd. South, Oak Blvd. North, Oak Blvd. West, County Road 700, Oak Court, Maple Court, Beachwood Lane
- Tuesday: Glen Oaks - Woodland East, Woodland West, Hickory Dr., Ln. and Ct., Mt. Comfort Road
- Wednesday: Cumberland Heights, Valley Brook Farms, Buck Creek Road, Cobblefield Estates, Autumn Woods,
- Thursday: Gale Crest, 10th Street, any areas not completed on Wednesday

In the event of adverse weather conditions, equipment malfunctions, or other unforeseen circumstances, leaf pick-up will

that may have been missed on their regular collection day.
For any questions or concerns regarding the leaf pick-up program, please reach out to Everett Hodges, our Streets
Superintendent, at (317) 894-6210.
Thank you for your cooperation and dedication to maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of our wonderful town. Together, we can make Cumberland an even better place to call home.
