Washington St. from Muessing St. to Starter St.)Weihnachtsmarkt LogoIn order to pay homage to our town's early German settlers, the town of Cumberland hosts the 13th annual Weihnachtsmarkt(Vy-nahkts-mahrkt), a German winter market. On December 7 from 11-6 p.m., Cumberland will close US 40 to celebrate the holidays with artisan vendors, traditional food & beer, kids activities, holiday entertainment, and so much more. 

Artisan Vendors: Discover an array of handcrafted gifts, from unique ornaments to cozy scarves and more. You are sure to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list.  

Traditional Food & Beer: Enjoy some German and holiday favorite foods, drinks, and alcohol. Check back soon to see the list of vendors. 

Entertainment: Immerse yourself in the sounds of the season with performances guaranteed to lift your spirits.
Kids Activities: Let the little ones get their energy out and play in some reindeer games, letters to Santa, free face painting, and more. 

Carriage Rides: From 12-4 p.m., free horse-drawn carriage rides will be available from nearby parking lots. 

Visit from Santa: Santa will arrive at the Gap Meeting House and visit with children, and a couple of his reindeer will even make an appearance. 

Tree Lighting: Join us at the stage at 5 pm, where Santa will help us with our annual holiday tree lighting, complete with fireworks and a festive musical performance. 

Whether you're a longtime resident or a curious visitor, the Cumberland Weihnachtsmarkt is an invitation to create cherished holiday memories with loved ones, and remember, admission is FREE!

Where can I park?
Parking is available at Townhall(if parking is full, you could also park at Meijer and walk to Townhall), Cumberland First Baptist Church, and Cumberland Christian Church. At these locations, from 12-4 p.m., a horse-drawn carriage will be available to pick you up and take you to the event. The closest public lots to the event are behind Subway, Edward Jones, Gaskin Fantastic Finds, and Seros(carriage rides will not occur from these lots).  
Are there Restrooms available?
Yes, there are portable restrooms, handicap-accessible portable restrooms,  and handwashing stations available near Gaskin Fantastic Finds.
What about the weather?
Weihnachtsmarkt is an all-weather outdoor event, so please dress accordingly. In the event that a cancellation/postponement is needed, please watch our social media for updates. 
Can I bring my pet?
Yes, well-behaved leashed pets are welcome outdoors. Disruptive or aggressive pets will be asked to leave.

How do I become a vendor?
Small businesses and handmade vendors are invited to participate in the artisan market to help attendees complete their holiday shopping lists.
