Honor's Park Nomination
Do you know a Cumberland resident or business owner that has served the community through business, religious, education or public service activities that should be recognized?
The Town of Cumberland Parks Advisory Council is proud to announce it is accepting nominations for the 2017 Honors Park Ceremony. Each year they recognizes an individual or individuals that have lived or worked in Cumberland and have displayed distinguished service to the community through noteworthy accomplishments. Nominations are being accepted through August 15, 2017. Nominations can be submitted to the Parks Advisory Council at 11501 E. Washington Street, Cumberland, IN. All nominations must be submitted in writing including an explanation of the nominee’s qualifications.
The Parks Advisory Council will make its selection for this year’s recipient based on the written nominations. The recognition includes inscription of the honorees name on a permanent monument in Honors Park. This year’s induction ceremony will be held October 1, 2017.
Past honorees include Frank and Viola Buckley (2015), Dr. David Vickery (2014), Don Engerer (2012), Virginia “Ginny” Jones (2011), John and Elisabeth Kroetz (2010), Bob Shedlock (2008), members of the military and veterans (2006), Ora Callahan (2005), and Robert & Rosalie Lewis (2004) as well as many other worthy inductees.
