The Planning Division focuses on the current planning activities within the Town of Cumberland.  Planning staff works with the Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals on these activities:

In 2009, the Town of Cumberland initiated a Coordinated Sign Program to provide design assistance to business owners along East Washington Street.  The program began as a program offered to assist businesses that lost signs as a part of the Cumberland Historic National Road Streetscape Project.  The success of the program was expanded to include all businesses along East Washington Street.  The program will continue in 2010.  Information on the program and the designs can be found in the Related Pages section.
